2025 MAPD/PDP Producer Certification Training

The 2025 Medicare Certification Training will be available to producers beginning in June.

Overview

The annual mandatory training will include two sections: the AHIP and the HCSC curricula. Sections 1 and 2 must be completed by producers and sub-producers including all agency principals. All producers are required to complete all sections to be considered certified to sell 2025 Medicare Advantage (MAPD) and Medicare Rx (PDP) plans in accordance with CMS regulations at Title 42 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Parts 417, 422, and 423 of the 2024 Medicare Curriculum.

Additionally, all principals must complete forms under the agency National Producer Number (NPN) after their individual completion in order for the agency and all sub-producers to be deemed certified.

Timeline

The AHIP training will be available starting June 24, 2024. HCSC has negotiated a lower rate for contracted producers at $125 for training instead of $175. Agents can receive this discount using the AHIP/HCSC partner link, which will be distributed at a later time. The second curriculum, which is the HCSC training and other required forms, will be available starting July 2, 2024.

Medicare Renewal Compensation

All producers are required to certify by December 20, 2024, to retain all prior-year renewals, though exemptions apply for PDP plans sold between 2006 and 2008.

2024 Medicare Curriculum Update

The 2024 AHIP course will no longer be available after June 20, 2024. Producers wishing to complete the 2024 MAPD/PDP curriculum may instead take the 2025 AHIP course in addition to the 2024 Medicare Options plan course, exam, and forms. Producers seeking to complete the 2024 training will be assigned a dual plan year curriculum for both 2024 and 2025. The combined curriculum will satisfy the certification requirement for both years and will be available beginning July 2.
