To ensure timely processing and member coverage, it is critical agents are completing applications with complete and accurate information. 

Agent Assisted Online Application

Although not all fields are required, WellCare asks that you please ensure all relevant information needed for each specific application type is accurately completed accordingly. Recently, they have seen an increase of errors such as:

  • HICN: missing or incorrect/invalid
  • No plan selected on front page of paper app and/or signature page
  • Special Election Period (SEP): no selection or multiple selection(s)

Paper Applications

As of April 1st, 2018 Medicare beneficiary identification numbers (HICN) transitioned to a combination of alpha and numeric characters. Consequently, we are beginning to see increased volumes of applications falling into an RFI status due to unclearly written HICNS, which is causing a delay in application processing time. Please ensure the HICN is decipherable so applications can be processed timely and accurately. Please see suggestions on how to write characters:
