Rule Changes for Inactive Accounts on Blue Access for ProducersSM (BAPSM) and Blue Access for EmployersSM (BAESM)

What’s changing? BlueCross BlueShield of Texas is implementing an industry-standard practice to maintain the health of our BAP and BAE portals. Beginning in August, users who haven’t logged into their accounts in 13 months or more will lose access due to inactivity.

Review Delegated Users: If you would like to review your delegated users before our system update, just follow these easy steps:

  • Log in to your BAP account.
  • Select Password Manager from the top of the page.
  • Review the delegate table. The final column shows “Last Activity.” (Some mobile devices may not display the “Last Activity” column.) If there are delegated users on your list whose “Last Activity” was 13 months ago (or longer), you can choose to revoke access yourself or let our system do it automatically.
  • If these inactive users still need BAP access, encourage them to log in before July 31 to retain it.

BAE email alert: Within the next week, BlueCross BlueShield of Texas will deliver an email to BAE group administrators and security managers with similar information.

Reregistering: Primary users who lose access due to inactivity can simply reregister following prompts on the or login pages. Additional users will need to coordinate their access through their BAP and BAE primary users. Primary users can add additional users via BAP’s Password Manager or BAE’s Security Manager feature.

Stay tuned. This is not a one-time scheduled event but an ongoing security feature. More security enhancements are coming soon. Look for emails on BAP updates for the latest information.
