American Equity is thrilled to share that they recently increased the Minimum Guaranteed Surrender Value-Minimum Guaranteed Interest Rate (MGSV-MGIR)* across all of their products, including the Shield Suite of fixed index annuities. This increased rate provides even more protection for your clients by bolstering the minimum guaranteed surrender value on American Equity contracts. 

The following states recently adopted the new NAIC Best Interest Standard:

• North Carolina: January 1, 2023
• Alaska: November 23, 2022

American Equity is pleased to announce that rates are increasing on their flagship AssetShield fixed index annuity series, on the fixed interest strategy, and many index-linked crediting strategies. In addition, rates are increasing for all GuaranteeShield fixed annuities. Rate increases are effective today, November 2, 2022. 

Effective October 1, 2022, Assurity is launching new and improved versions of the Encore and Plus One single premium deferred annuities. The revamped products have reduced yet still competitive commissions rates, which help to produce larger interest rate bonuses and higher crediting rates, all while keeping popular product features such as the competitive annual free withdrawal provision. The interest rate guarantee remains at 1 percent for policies issued in 2022.
