Wellcare Certification Blackout Period And More

As Wellcare prepares for the 2023 Annual Enrollment Period season, beginning July 1, 2022, there will be a temporary blackout for new broker contracting and certification training. Please see the table below that outlines what will be unavailable.

  • 2022 Wellcare Annual Certification Training (ACT) will be unavailable.

Please Note: Although the 2022 Wellcare ACT will be unavailable, access to the 2023 AHIP will continue to be available through the Centene Learning Center (CLC) until July 7 and will resume on July 12.

2023 Annual Certification Requirements Launch

  • 2023 Recertification cases will be created in Centene Workbench for Legacy Wellcare Brokers, Captives, and Agencies that are in an Active or Suspended Status.
  • 2023 Wellcare ACT will launch for completion of PY2023 certification training in the Centene Learning Center (CLC).

After the blackout period concludes, the following 2023 annual certification requirements will be available:

  • Annual Certification Training (ACT)
  • 2023 Contract Acknowledgement

Wellcare wants to remind you of an upcoming change to the Special Population (SPOP) & Medicaid Verification Call Center Hours of Operation. Effective July 1, 2022, the SPOP Call Center Hours of Operation will change to 8:00 AM – 11:00 PM EST. The SPOP Call Center assists with required Medicaid beneficiary eligibility verification for enrollment in Chronic Condition Special Needs Plans (CSNP) and Dual-Eligible Special Needs Plans (DSNP).

The Ascend platform provides a fast and accurate method for submitting applications. You can use the Ascend platform for application submission and automated Medicaid verification capability. Use of Ascend for application submission does not require pre-verification through the SPOP Call Center.
