In the past four years, enrollment in Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans (D-SNPs) has doubled to more than five million individuals. The D-SNPs are meant to meet the needs of people who are eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid. 

D-SNPs are one of several plans within the Medicare Advantage program comprise the largest category both in enrollment and the number of plans offered. Due to the nature of D-SNPs, there are challenges for members, and their agents as well.

This declaration allows for a one-time Special Enrollment Period (SEP), in the event beneficiaries were unable to make an election during another qualifying election period. Molina Healthcare Implements New Background Check Process

Molina Healthcare is implementing a new background check process for agents who have been with the company for two years and have active enrollments. Agents will receive a link from Evolve asking for a signature of approval to run the background check, which will be valid for the duration of their active status with Molina Marketplace.

This is an important announcement for agents with customers in California, Florida, New Hampshire, North Carolina, and Vermont and for those with business in these states. The counties below are under a federal or state designated SEP due to an emergency.

Please note: A disaster SEP application is only valid while the SEP declaration is in effect. If an end date is not listed below, please refer to our Ongoing SEP tracker in Producers’ University for the most up-to-date information. Any SEP applications submitted outside of that SEP’s declaration date will be rejected.
