Aetna Senior Supplemental: New Dental Insurance Plans are Coming!

New dental and dental plus plans are coming to New Mexico on February 23rd!

Due to new regulatory requirements from the New Mexico Department of Insurance, Aetna is launching revised Dental and Dental Plus insurance plans in New Mexico to conform with these new requirements. 

The last application submission and signature date for the existing Protection Series^SM Dental and Vision plans in New Mexico will be April 28, 2024.

Be sure to replace any existing sales materials you have on hand. New sales materials are now available to download/order. Just go to the agent side of AetnaSeniorProducts.com and click Products > Order Supplies.

Note: The brochure for Dental Plus is not yet available.

You can start submitting applications through Aetna Quote & Enroll on Friday, February 23.

This valuable Dental insurance coverage can help your client and their family smile bigger and brighter. It covers expenses such as routine exams and fillings, so your client doesn’t have to. The “Plus” plan covers a wide range of services including orthodontics and implants. This insurance supplements and complements other health insurance plans. It can help reduce or even eliminate your client's out-of-pocket costs for preventive care.

Below are brief descriptions of the Dental and Dental Plus insurance plans. Review the policy and state-specific outline of coverage for variations and complete details.

Dental Insurance

• Choose $1,000, $1,500, or $2,000 maximum benefit per person per policy year
• Plan deductible is only $100 per person per policy year
• Guaranteed acceptance, no health questions
• Freedom to choose any provider or receive better rates in-network
   
• Covered starting day one:
  
  • Preventive care:Exams/cleanings (twice per year), x-rays
  • Basic care: Basic restorative services, non-surgical periodontal services, fillings, non-surgical extractions
• Covered after 12-month waiting period:
  • Major services:Endodontics (including root canal), periodontal surgery, bridges, crowns, full/partial dentures

Dental Plus Insurance

• Choose $1,000 -  $5,000 maximum benefit per person per policy year in $500 increments
• Plan deductible is only $100 per person per policy year
• Guaranteed acceptance, no health questions
• Freedom to choose any provider or receive better rates in-network
   
• Covered starting day one:
  • Preventive care:Exams/cleanings (three times per year), x-rays
  • Basic care: Basic restorative services, non-surgical periodontal services, fillings, non-surgical extractions
  • Major services: Endodontics (including root canal), periodontal surgery, bridges, crowns, full/partial dentures
• Covered after 12-month waiting period: 
  • Orthodontics: $1500 lifetime maximum; Clear aligners $750 lifetime maximum
