AvMed Notification of the No Surprise Act

Resulting from the enactment of the No Surprises Act on January 1, 2022, AvMed is notifying you of:

1. An Addendum to your AvMed Producer Agreement for Individual Products – Under Age 65, and
2. Our new Agent/Broker Compensation Disclosure policy for Individual & Family Plans  

The new Addendum must be digitally signed by you before July 29, 2022.

Key updates to our Agent/Broker Compensation Disclosure policy are also outlined below:

• AvMed’s Individual and Family appointed agents and brokers are required to disclose to an Individual & Family Plan potential or existing policyholder the amount of direct or indirect compensation AvMed provides to you (or your designated agency) for services associated with plan selection and enrollment.
• Such disclosure shall be—
  (1) made prior to the individual finalizing plan selection; and
  (2) included on any documentation confirming the individual’s initial enrollment; and
  (3) included on any documentation confirming renewal.
• These disclosures must include people with disabilities or limited English proficiency. As part of making the required disclosures, AvMed’s Individual and Family appointed agents and brokers are required to comply with the requirements of 45 CFR 92.101 (Meaningful access to individuals with limited English proficiency) and 45 CFR 92.102 (Effective communication for individuals with disabilities)
