Aetna Updating Heart Attack or Stroke Plus Plans in New Mexico

Due to new regulatory requirements from the New Mexico Department of Insurance, Aetna will be withdrawing the current Cancer and Heart Attack or Stroke Plus product in New Mexico. Existing policyholders are not impacted by this change.

New Cancer and Heart Attack or Stroke Plus plans starting February 2

Effective February 2, 2024, Aetna will launch a new Cancer and Heart Attack or Stroke Plus product in New Mexico (with the same name) to conform with these new requirements. 

New sales materials are now available to download/order. Just go to the agent side of AetnaSeniorProducts.com and click on Products, the choose Order Supplies. Be sure to replace any existing sales materials you have on hand, as they will now be outdated!

Electronic applications submitted through Aetna Quote & Enroll will transition automatically to the new product starting on February 2ns, 2024. Paper applications with an application signature date on or after February 2nd will be processed as the new product.

Cancer and Heart Attack or Stroke Plus Insurance Plans

Plan features:

• Issue ages 18 - 89  
• Benefit amounts run from $5,000 - $75,000
• Available plans include the following: cancer, cancer with recurrence benefit, heart attack, and heart attack with recurrence benefit
• Choose a cancer plan or a heart attack/stroke plan or one of each, with different benefit amounts 
• For individuals, individual and spouse/domestic partner, individual and child(ren), and family
• Same lump sum benefit amount for each covered person
• Lump sum benefit paid directly to insured or someone designated
